Learning and development
Our Trust is dedicated to supporting employee development and career progression by offering access to a range of learning opportunities, including clinical and professional development, vocational qualifications, and leadership training. Employees receive annual personal reviews and development plans to aid their growth and are encouraged to expand their skills and take on new responsibilities through our career framework. This framework enhances job satisfaction and career advancement, allowing employees to either advance in their current roles or retrain for new ones. We provide training at various locations, including our Learning & Development Centre and sites across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Wiltshire, ensuring accessible learning for all staff.
Evolving Careers: Speed’s progression from Receptionist to Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

I always knew I wanted to work in Mental Health, so I took a temporary position as receptionist at an ADHD and Autism clinic. Someone there had worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner previously, so she recommended the job for me and helped me understand what to expect, before I applied for the role online.
I had some significant challenges to overcome during the apprenticeship. The learning was very fast paced, and taking what I was learning into my working days with such a quick turnaround was very tough. But I was able to take some time away from my role, and work with my tutors and managers to get my head around the materials, before coming back to work ready and able to do my job with confidence. I’m proud of myself for working through those struggles and learning more about myself.

Apprenticeships
Our development opportunities are available to both new and existing staff. If you want to grow and develop your knowledge and skills and/or achieve a recognised qualification we will support you to find out what’s available and what is best for you in your role and your future career plan.
