An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse at Vaughan Thomas ward  which is part of  the Adult Inpatient Service!

As a Staff Nurse you will work as part of our Multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care to our patients and support our Trust on its Journey to Outstanding Care.

Vaughan Thomas  Ward is an 18 bedded male acute ward. We provide care  and treatment for up to 18  patients, experiencing a variety of mental health problems . 

You will have an opportunity to work with supportive teams and committed colleagues.

  • A qualified RMN with passion and drive for developing your clinical skills in a changeable environment
  • A keen interest in new and upcoming technologies within Nursing and Healthcare
  • Be self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing initiative and promoting new ideas on how to improve the service
  • Be compassionate, caring and creative with excellent communication skills
  • A flexible and positive attitude with a willingness to accommodate our 24/7 service

We are open to accepting applications from newly qualified nursing staff. 

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the ward for a span of duty
  • To assist in every aspect of the management of an acute inpatient unit
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to patients and carers
  • To provide high quality of holistic nursing care to patients and carers
  • To contribute to the development of acute inpatient services

You will work a rotating shift pattern Early, Late and Nights to cover our 24 hour 7 day a week service. All candidates will need to be computer literate.
