The Mental Health Research Delivery Team (MHRDT) are delighted to offer a secondment opportunity for the role of Clinical Research Assistant / Clinical Research Practitioner (CRA/CRP) working across the Keystone Mental Health & Wellbeing Hubs in Oxfordshire. The role is open to any clinician currently working in any Keystone Hub service.
This is a part-time (15 hours - 2 X 7.5 hour days) secondment role until 31st March 2027, with the possibility to extend further subject to funding.
The focus of this role is to support with the development of a research engagement and recruitment strategy for the Keystone Hubs in Oxfordshire. This would involve mapping referral pathways and working alongside Keystone Hub clinicians and MHRDT Clinical Research Assistant colleagues to increase referrals and recruitment to National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio studies for patients and staff across the Keystone Hub services. As part of the role you will also have the opportunity to gain experience of delivering research, undertaking assessments for a variety of non-commercial mental health studies. Research training will be provided.
You will join a team of CRAs in the Mental Health Research Delivery Team, each of whom are embedded within Mental Health clinical teams across Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job
- Recruit patients and staff within the Keystone Hubs into a broad portfolio of mental health research studies. Clinical Research Assistants work across a range of studies providing support with recruitment, study delivery and set up.
- Support and complete research activities: undertake informed consent, randomisation, treatment allocation, cognitive assessments, and venepuncture as stipulated in the trial protocol.
- Develop strong working relationships with consultants and care coordinators to facilitate collaborative working and enable the identification of eligible service users and staff.

Experience

- Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties within the NHS
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment
