We are recruiting for a  Part time Charity Finance Manager to join us at our Littlemore Mental Health Centre in Oxford where you'll be responsible for ensuring the provision and delivery of financial services to the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Charity – Oxford Health Charity (charity number 1057285).

You'll be supporting the Assistant Director of Financial Operations  in ensuring compliance with all statutory and mandatory external financial reporting requirements applicable under the Charity Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) and Financial Reporting Standard (FRS) 102.

This role supports all areas of Oxford Health Charity therefore you will engage with key stakeholders of the Charity.

 

Main duties of the job

  • To provide, with direction, a professional finance service to Oxford Health Charity stakeholders, fund advisors, managers, clinicians and staff and to ensure that all relevant financial procedures and guidance are adhered to.
  • Weekly liaison and engagement with the charity management team to ensure timely, accurate and effective management of funding requests, invoicing and payments.
  • Preparation of the charity monthly management accounts information for presentation to the Charity Managers and Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis.
  • The preparation and submission of the charity Annual Accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and the Charity SORP, with support from the Financial Controller plus the NHS Charity Comparison.
  • Liaising with the appointed auditors in providing the supporting documentation to allow them to carry out their audits.
  • Managing the bank accounts and cash positions of the charity to ensure cash if accessible when required, including unrestricted and restricted bank reconciliation and the company credit card.

Person specification

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of Accounting and standards
  • Understanding of requirements for Information Governance and legislation surrounding confidentiality (e.g. Data Protection Act).

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of NHS Charity guidance and financial policies.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • CCAB part qualified/finalist or AAT qualification (or qualified by experience)

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of undertaking continuous professional development

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience working in finance and involvement in annual accounts
  • Significant Charity Accounts experience.

Desirable criteria

  • NHS Charity accounting experience.
  • Involvement in enhancements to process and systems.
  • Experience of using financial ledger systems
