We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber to join our Estates Team on a fixed-term or secondment basis.
This is a chance to become part of a dedicated team that plays a crucial role in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant healthcare environments across Oxford Health.
As a vital member of a multi-skilled, multi-disciplinary Estates Team, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality plumbing service across a diverse property portfolio. You will undertake both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and Trust standards.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of reactive plumbing repairs across the Trust
- This role plays a key role in maintaining and improving our facilities across the Trust.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure the reliability and safety of systems
- Complete small works projects to a high standard
- Ensure all tasks are delivered in line with statutory regulations, policies, and best practice
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary estates team
Additional Requirements
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota to support operational needs

Essential criteria
- HND in Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent experience or City and Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing with extensive and relevant equivalent experience & followed an apprenticeship
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working for NHS

- Significant relevant experience working within an estates maintenance team or as a site/self-employed plumber
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- experience with plantrooms
- Substantial and significant practical and theoretical mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems
- Has a good knowledge of IT systems, CAFM workforce systems
- Extremely detailed knowledge of HTM/HBN requirements in relation to estate management
Desirable criteria
- experience with both domestic and commercial plumbing
