Do you have admin experience in a busy, fast paced environment?

We are seeking an Administrator to join the BaNES CAMHS community team on a part time basis. This role could be a perfect opportunity for someone with strong admin and communication skills, who is used to a fast paced environment. You will be, at times, the first point of contact for a number of different people - from patients, visitors and colleagues alike!  

Main duties of the job

  • To provide an efficient and effective comprehensive administrative support to the team/service.
  • Provide a polite and efficient reception service to patients and visitors.
  • To administratively support the multi-disciplinary CAMHS team.
  • To accurately type and distribute letters and other documents as required.
  • To respond to email, telephone enquiries and written enquiries using a high level of initiative and responding in a confidential and sensitive way and action in the appropriate way.
  • To update patient records as required and ensure that the Trust’s databases are up to date and all clinical data is entered appropriately

Qualifications - Academic/Skills/Professional

Essential criteria

  • Higher Education qualification (i.e. A-Level/NVQ 3 standard), or extensive equivalent/previous experience in an Administration role
  • GCSE English and Maths

  • Administration/secretarial qualifications

Further Training or Job-Related Aptitude and Skills

Essential criteria

  • Able to manage own workload
  • Able to work independently and with limited supervision
  • Able to work effectively under pressure/cope with distractions
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Proficient with MS Office suites, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Computer user of MS Teams

Experience

  • Relevant experience of working in an office environment as an administrator
  • Relevant experience of working in a supervisory role
  • Proven experience in using databases to add/amend/retrieve information
  • Experience of working to deadlines and prioritising a heavy workload
  • Minute-taking experience
  • Experience of managing diary systems and tracking information

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of using healthcare patient record systems e.g. RIO
  • Experience of working in children’s services
  • Experience of working in healthcare administration or public sector administration

  • Desire to attend courses relating to role as appropriate
  • Ability to deal with the public in a polite and professional manner
  • Able to communicate with staff at all levels of the Trust and outside agencies in a confident and effective manner

  • Able to work flexibly across other teams, if required

  • Able to travel independently between sites, if required, to provide cover
