We are looking to recruit a HR Business Partner on a Fixed Term Contract for 18 months  to join our team.

The HR Business Partner will work alongside and within the Community Health Services, Dentistry & Primary Care Directorate as part of the Partnerships, Improvement and Programmes team providing a critical link between workforce strategy and the Directorate’s transformation agenda. Working across the Directorate and in partnership with senior leaders, clinicians and stakeholders, the HR Business Partner will provide expert leadership and advice on workforce strategy, organisational change, employee relations and people development, ensuring that workforce implications are identified early and that staff are effectively engaged and supported through change.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced HR professional, you will provide high-quality strategic and operational HR support to your assigned areas. You will:

  • Build strong, effective partnerships with senior leaders to support delivery of Directorate objectives
  • Work collaboratively with trade unions, fostering positive employee relations
  • Develop a deep understanding of service priorities and translate these into workforce strategies
  • Identify workforce challenges and design targeted, impactful interventions
  • Contribute to system-wide workforce initiatives and continuous improvement

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Postgraduate qualification (Master’s level) in HR Management, or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience in a senior HR or workforce role within a complex organisation
  • Proven ability to operate within a multi-disciplinary HR team, engaging stakeholders at all levels
  • Specialist knowledge of HR practice and employment law
  • Strong understanding of both operational and strategic workforce issues (e.g. workforce planning, medical workforce, staff engagement)
  • A quality-focused mindset, with a flexible and innovative approach to solving complex problems

Person specification

HR Experience working at a senior level preferably in the NHS/Public Sector

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working within a HR multi-disciplinary team, working with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Educated to Masters Level or knowledge & equivalent experience

Knowledge of change management

Essential criteria

  • Able to demonstrate that they have managed HR related projects and experience of collaborating on workforce projects
  • Experience of leadership of change management

Knowledge - IT

Essential criteria

  • IT Skills demonstrated including MS Office and ability to analyse/manipulate data
