Main duties of the job
As the Phoenix Ward Manager, you would be responsible for the effective operational management, organisation and delivery of high-quality nursing care and clinical leadership within the inpatient ward. You will provide, maintain and develop nursing care to the optimum standard possible within the resources provided. The ward manager is seen as a clinical leader, providing role modelling, facilitation, and education to the nursing team.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- To manage the day to day flow of our 18 bedded male ward and HBPOS.
- To support the MDT to provide high quality and evidenced based patient care.
- To provide, maintain and develop nursing care to the optimum standard possible within the resources provided.
- The ward manager will provide: role modelling, facilitate supervision and education to the nursing team
- To participate in the duty manager rota providing clinical support, advice and practical involvement as required to ensure the safe provision of the clinical services.
- Support the provision of 24-hour full and accountable managerial responsibility for the ward.
- To take the lead in ensuring effective joint working with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure responsive and appropriate service delivery to users and carers

- Can demonstrate clear evidence of continued professional development.
